Grizzly Hill Organic Farm is an organic farm registered by the State of California and certified organic by C.C.O.F. (California Certified Organic Farmers). We are located near the South Fork of the Yuba River in Nevada City. Grizzly Hill Farm has been producing organic vegetables for the local market since 1992. Owners Ray & Cheri Diggins pride

Operation: The farm operates year-round with both inside and outside beds and greenhouses. Our plants, such as sweet peppers, are grown as perennials, year after year, as they continue to 
produce. We are “off the grid” and utilize solar, biodiesel, propane and other resources to power our operation. As our water is primarily pumped with solar power, we reuse our water seve
ral times before putting it onto the outside garden beds. We are not hydroponic, as our system utilizes soil instead of sterile medium and many hybrid hydroponic innovations to produce certified organic vegetable and herb seedlings. Our watering system utilizes a system of float beds and aerobic digesters to use, enrich and reuse water from one green house to another until no runoff remains.
